Buttle UK Trustee
Buttle UK is an exciting and creative charity that has been helping children and young people across the UK since 1953 through its endowment and external funding. We give direct practical help to children, young people and their families living in poverty, and at a point in their lives where they have nowhere else to turn.
This is a significant time for Buttle UK as we move forward with our strategy for developing our approach to grant giving under the leadership of our new Chief Executive. We aim to provide the vulnerable children and young people we support with a holistic package of funding that will not only help them overcome a crisis in their lives, but help remove the barriers preventing them from unlocking their potential.
To help meet the goals of this strategy we launched a Fundraising Campaign with an ambitious target over the next 5 years to raise £10m. We are thrilled that we have reached over £3.5m to date with many more fundraising opportunities in the pipeline.
We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse Board and are interested in recruiting a Trustee for Scotland and a Trustee for Northern Ireland, with an understanding of the role, and may have personal knowledge or experience of business finance, human resources or information technology. We are also interested in recruiting trustees that have lived-experience of the key issues we work with. Training and a mentor can be provided if trusteeship is new to you, we openly encourage applicants without any trustee experience.
Trustees must be able to travel to London to attend four Board meetings a year and contribute to other activities as appropriate.
